Gerbera Daisies

Good Morning All - I tried posting this last night, but blogger decided it didn't want to play!!

For the past couple of years I have watched the wonderful design team at Flourishes make some amazing cards. I bought some of their stamps and they have been sitting in my basket for two years. I decided to pull out the Gerbera Daisies set and take part of their Timeless Tuesday Challenge #124. I had such a great time coloring these daisies - I can't believe that I let them gather dust.

I am also entering my card into the Our Creative Corner Your Style challenge. They want you to answer, "What is your style?" I thought about that and since I began posting cards two years ago I see my style has changed. My favorite images would be flowers because I love coloring them. I'm finding that I love to add bows (my sister tells me that not all cards need bows) but I think they are so fun to make. I think my style comes with my mood, but if I had to name one style it would be elegant.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy my card.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #100

It's sketch #100 today! It's a fun one...I hope that you will all play along. We have a wonderful sponsor this week:
TSB offers some fabulous digis as well as rubber stamps. Tracey's collection is just awesome and her Enchantment line is amazing! Tracey was kind enough to provide us with some digis. I was so thrilled to get Tulip Fairy, but I have to tell you I wanted them all!!

Here is the fabulous sketch...don't let it keep you from joining in on the fun. You can interpret this is so many fabulous ways.
This card is a special one for me...my wonderful friend Holly (aka Toy on SCS) colored this one for me. I was up at her home and I just wanted to watch her color because her creations are just beyond amazing. I thought about just hoarding this image, but it's so beautiful that I wanted to use it. So this card is a compliation of her and I. Isn't the fairy just beautiful.

I can't wait to see what you create with this fabulous sketch.

Celebration Day

It's a BIG CELEBRATION day!!
Birthday Card for Helen

Celebration One

Today is my lovely neighbor Helen's 93rd Birthday - 93!! She still lives independently and up on the third floor. She exercises everyday - she walks up and down the stairs, she cleans the building, and she delivers the mail that doesn't fit in our skinny mail boxes. I live in a small apartment building that was built in the late 40s early 50s and she has been a resident for nearly 35 years. She is an absolute dear. I just had to make a card to celebrate her life.

Celebration Two

It's two years since I began my blog and posted my first card so I though it befitting to post today's card with the same stamp set I posted two years ago. I have certainly seen progression in my craft over the past two years. I want to say thank you to all the followers that I have and all the wonderful comments that I have received. In the past two months I have gained 5 new followers and I want to say thank you and welcome! I hope that you'll enjoy my creations as I plan on finding the balance that I need when I go back to work and start the new school year and continue to get to the gym! I have had such a wonderful time over this summer break being able to be creative. I don't want to give that up when I return to work.

Celebration Three

Although this is a celebration, I am sad too! The card I made today is the first set that I bought from There She Goes Clear Stamps - Cupcake Mix & Match. I bought it on May 25, 2009 - two years ago! Now I proudly own 58 of Jessica's sets with 5 more on their way! Can you tell I'm totally hooked? I think it's an awesome coincidence that the first stamp set I purchased is in the same month that I was asked to be Guest Trendsetter. I can't tell you how elated I was to do this. My term was for May and June and June ends in 2 days. So my time as Guest Trendie is over, but my love and use of TSG stamps is far from over. I want to thank Jessica, TSG owner for the most wonderful opportunity ever. I also want to say a big thank you to Holly, Sr. Trendsetter for believing in me and being the best person I have ever had the pleasure of having as a friend.

I am also posting this card onto Mojo Monday week 197 as this is where I got the inspiration for the layout.

Thank you for celebrating with me and I look forward to another year.

A Thank You

Good Afternoon Everyone - I am hooked to the Less in More challenge blog. I have gone back and read some of their challenges and plan to play this week and hopefully more in the future. This week they offered a sketch and I hope that I kept it in the CAS category. I have also decided to enter my into the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. Their challenge is to emboss. Just know I will usually never enter a card into more than two challenges at once - where's the fun in making one card for 10+ challenges??

Today I wanted to make a thank you card for a friend. She invited me to her home for dinner (which was fabulous) and a movie. My friend, Maritza speaks Spanish, I only know enough to make a fool of myself. She would forget that I don't speak Spanish and she'd go on with this long sentence and I'd look at her with a blank look. She'd laugh and realize that she wasn't speaking in English. I was thrilled to see that one of my new stamping sets had Thank You in Spanish!! I just had to use it.

Gracias!

I have been wanting to try this technique that I saw on Jeanette Lynton's blog (owner of Close to My Heart). When I arrived at Maritza's home it reminded me of the home I grew up in. There was a rod iron railing with the paint chipping off and rust coming through and I wanted to capture that look. This technique I think does this. I stamped the image then I used my Versamark pad and a dauber to put spots onto stamp and then I restamped the image, covered it with white embossing powder. I do like the effect if gave. I haven't embossed in years, so I am a bit "rusty" at it. I like how it came out.
Theresa

Recipe:
Stamps: Close to My Heart (Friendship and Thank You)
Ink: Close to My Heart (barn red); Ranger Embossing Powder (seafoam white)
Paper: Bazzill (avalanche); Close to My Heart (barn red); Canvass Corp (chocolate & ivory French Script)
Accessories: Stampin' Up (dimensionals)

"Less is More" Monogram

Hello Bloggers -
Today I decided to try something a little different - CAS! A friend told me about a site called The Daily Dare - it lists a lot of challenge sites. I looked at one called "Less is More." Their challenge this week is to make a monogram. I thought about it all week.

CAS-Monogram

I hope my card qualifies!! I wanted to make my card for different purposes. I used the letter "T" for my name: Theresa, my job: Teacher, and a sentiment: Thanks! There was no way I was going to make this card without pink it in, so I hope that it's okay that I have one layer. I have been a long-time follower of Chupa (Random Acts of Creativity) and she is now doing a series of CAS cards called CAS-ify Me and I long to make cards like her and I noticed she has some with layers.

I do like my card...it'll be a fast card to make and give to my student's parents when I want to send special notes home or a thank you note.

Thanks for stopping by.
Theresa

Stamps: Close To My Heart (Solos "T"; Dreams Come True)

Ink: Close To My Heart (Olive and Desert Sand)
Paper: Bazzill and SU
Accessories: Close To My Heart (Opaques - Mocha)

There She Goes Preview | Day Two

Let's continue our exciting week here at There She Goes. We have two fabulous set to show off today. I am very excited about these two sets. The hop starts off at There She Goes, but if you came to my blog from Tammy's, then you're in the right place.
This adorable car illustrated by Melyssa is great to make a fun, every day card for family and friends! The larger car featured in this mini set was sized so that it could also be used with Leah (who can be seen in the Freeze The Moment stamp set).

Vroom is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 6 stamps and will sell for $7.

TSG-Vroom
I just had so much creating this card. I found these darling DPs online from Cupcake Digitals- I just had to have them. I knew they were perfect for this wonderful car. The car in this set is just too perfect and how can you not go totally gaga over it!! I think I'll have to ask Jessica to create some small stamps - like decals of daisies, peace signs, fire flames, etc. for this beauty.

These gorgeous tropical flowers were illustrated by Torico and will quickly become a favorite from your summer stamping collection! Use them to create beautiful custom designer paper, color in the line art images to use as a focal point for your project or pair them with a TSG sentiment stamp set for a card that can be given for any occasion.

Hibiscus is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will seel for $7.

TSG-Hibiscus

Isn't this floral set just gorgeous! I had to hold myself back not to color every color of hibiscus that there is out there.

Would you like a chance to win the Vroom / Hibiscus stamp sets? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Vroom / Hibiscus Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Vroom / Hibiscus stamp sets. Tuesday Morning Sketches #99

For the There She Goes Blog Hop click here or scroll down.

Good Morning All - today we have a great sketch (uh umm!! if I may say so), it's my design. We have a great sponsor, Sparkle Creations. Sparkle was awesome to provide us with some stamps to play with. I think her stamps are awesome - I even purchased one that I wanted as well.

Now, when I designed this sketch I didn't know who would be our sponsor or the image I'd be playing with. So it was a little tough...so I took one my own creative license.

What I was excited about was getting the opportunity to color this beauty - her name is Cafe Lucy. I took my time and really worked hard on getting the shading down. This is something I am just learning. I met up with my friend Angela and she gave me some pointers and helped inspired me. I really love how it came out.

I hope that you join us today. I know Sparkle's prize will be so worth it.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to come back next week. We are on sketch #100 and I wonder if Melissa will have something fabulous planned??

Dollar Friday Find

Hi everyone. I have had one amazing week being Guest Trendsetter of the week. I don’t want it to end. When I went looking for a dollar find I was walking the aisles of Michael’s. I went up and down and then I turned the corner and saw the most perfect item. Now when I picked them up it was $1.99. Well that eliminated that idea. Then I went over to the $1.00 bin and I was moving things all around and sure enough there was my perfect item…it was in the defective bin. With my coupon I got it for $0.75.

How perfect is this…ice cream cups with lids and the wooden spoons. This is the perfect fit for Freeze the Moment. The second I saw those cups I knew this was the perfect project. The package came with 6 cups, lids, and 5 spoons (that was why it was cheap!). I took apart one cup to make a template on the DP.

This is what the original cup looked like:

Here is how I transformed the item using Freeze the Moment:

Don’t you think this would be the perfect set-up for your little one’s party.

TSG - Wednesday Trends

Today is an even more exciting day for me. I selected the Wednesday Trends for There She Goes. Now trends are not usually ones' original ideas, what I selected is no exception. I want to give credit where credit is due. I received a book called Magic by Jeanette Lynton (owner of Close to My Heart). It is a book with sketches and tips for scrapbooks. One idea caught my eye - and I would like to share it with you.

I love this project and it came out so wonderfully. I also want to give thanks to Holly, Sr. Trendsetter for letting me sit at her dining room table and be neurotic and ask every couple of seconds, "Does this look good? What do you think? Isn't this fabulous?" I appreciate her input and just being by my side while I took this on for the first time. Also, a thanks to her sons, Noah and Levi for taking the direction photos.

The Revolving Door Technique

Let's begin:

Supplies needed: heavy cardstock; DP, TSG stamps, ruler, pencil, and a single brad.

Please click on the images to make them larger for directions.

Step 7: Stamp your images on your cut wedges (be sure to watch your orientation). I used the final circle to place my wedges down.

Step 8: Place your revolving door on top of your stamped circle. Pierce a small hole and place our brad through the hole. Now it will rotate with ease.

Step 9: Place your revolving door circle on top of your card, decorate with bling, and enjoy!!

Please don't let the directions intimidate you ... this was one of the easiest projects I have done. It just takes time to make the circle template just right and cut the bow ties. Trust me, it is so worth it in the end. I just love this card. I hope you do to.

For my project I used the wonderful My Little Friend. I hadn't inked up this set yet, but I just love it for this project.

I hope you give this technique a try. I think it's just fun and fabulous!!

TMS #98 & Mojo Monday 195

Good Morning Crafters -

It's a beautiful humid day in Denver. It poured cats and dogs last night...I loved listening to the sound. Today Melissa doesn't have a sketch, but Angela one of our talented design team members has provided us with a photo for our Inspiration Judged Challenge today. We also have a wonderful sponsor - Tiffany Doodles. She has provided the team with some wonderful digi's. I was fortunate enough to get flowers - cherry blossoms.

Where I had a hard time is that cherry blossoms are not yellow - so I took other things from the photo. I love the color of the perfume and the gold brads. I also decided to join in the fun and enter my card for Mojo Monday. I used their sketch to set up my card. I think this is the first time that TMS has had a picture for inspiration - so I can't wait to see what inspires you and what you come up with.

TMS-#102

I appreciate your stopping by. I hope you'll stop by the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations and leave a little love. We'll all be by to check out your work as this is our judged challenge week and we will be looking for your project!

Have an awesome day!

TSG111 - Monday Challenge

I am so excited about today's post. It's challenge Monday over at There She Goes and this week's challenge is a fun sketch brought to you by none other than ME!!

When I sat down and put together this sketch I had no idea that it was going to stump me! I thought making a triangle - no problem. I think I ended up waisting so much paper trying to get it right. Then I came up with the brilliant idea to use my Cricut to cut the triangles. It worked!! Then I went through all of my TSG stamps and I wanted to use all of them. I couldn't decide. The one thing I had made a decision on was the paper - that was easy. I stamped about 10 images and finally decided on this darling little girl from the Blossom by Blossom set - which is just the most amazing set. I just love it!!

After I completed coloring the image...I wasn't all that satisfied. It was just naked! Although I love how I colored her, it just needed something else. I decided to give a go and add clouds. I was so afraid that if it went wrong I'd have to start all over. I'm glad that wasn't the case - I just love how it came out. Then looking at the bottom of the design area it was empty too. The image has grass, but I cut it all off. So I used one of the grass images and added it back in. I am so very pleased with this card. I hope you'll join in the fun and use my sketch to make your next masterpiece.

TSG111-Card

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card using the sketch, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (June 20). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. Cherry Blossoms ~ Neopolitan Style

It's a beautiful Sunday in Denver. I am so excited to post this card and then I am off to enjoy the outdoors (me outdoors - eek!!).

Part of my summer project is to work on my cards and scrapbook layouts. I really want to get better at what I love to do. Having the opportunity to be guest Trendie over at TSG has really boosted my confindence to participate in some of the challenges out in the blogging world. Becca over at Amazing Paper Grace asked what is your favorite color pallette. My favorite color pallette is none other than pink and brown. Low and behold Moxie Fab World is having a challenge this week with my favorite color pallette. I decided to join.

Here is there Trigger Tuesday inspiration. Don't you just love this photo. Who doesn't love neopolitan? It's the best of all three flavors. It's the best of my favorite color pallette. The photo inspired me to create this card. I am so pleased with the results. I purchased the stamp about two years ago and I have been so intimidated to color this image, but I took my time and I love how it came out. Isn't that ribbon just delicious. I want to hang it just to look at it.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy my project. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

TSG } Stampbook Saturday

Hello Bloggers ~ Today begins my exciting week of hosting the There She Goes Clear Stamps blog and I can’t tell you enough how honored I am to have this fantastic opportunity. I have some wonderful designs to share with you, so be sure to check back all week.

With the latest release, Jessica introduced us to a new set titled Forever and it’s an amazing mini-set. Jessica posted this awesome card and I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. It’s this card that I took my inspiration and did my best to CASE.

Isn't her card just scrumptious?

Well I set my eyes on making a scrapbook page using this set and her design. Since I don't have a lot of photos I had to really put my thinking cap on. When I began making scrapbook pages several years ago I made this page that now I look and say, "Yikes, what was I thinking!" It was perfect. I took the photo out and began the process. I love how this came out.

The two little ones in the photo are my sister, Karin and I. This happens to be one of my favorite photos of the two of us (she’s the one squatting). Sorry it’s not in color, it was taken in the 60s afterall!! Karin tells me that when I was born she instantly fell in love with me and that I was her baby. I am completely in awe of how this scrapbook page came out that I plan on having it framed. Karin’s 50th birthday is this year and what a great present this will make!

Thank you Jessica for the beautiful inspiration and stamp sets too!!

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Golf

I am having so much fun being able to make cards and scrapbooks. The hardest part of this is that I tend to stay up entirely too late! Last night was one of those nights. I decided to blog hop and came across a challenge blog called Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge. They are currently looking for new Design Team Members and with all the fun I am having creating, I thought why not give it a try. I wish I had know about their blog along time ago. I like their challenges and would love to be a part of their team.

Their challenge this week is to make a card for a man or a boy. I thought about this all day. Although my biological father and I don't have much of a relationship I think I'll shock him and send him this card along with a gift card to play golf. I think I have plenty of time to mail it to him before father's day. He's a pretty funny guy I guess he'll be worth it!!

For my card I pulled out and dusted off some DP that I have hoarded. I love this side of the SU paper - it's masculine and the other side is very feminine. I also pulled out a stamp set that I got in a mystery box and haven't had reason to use it. I hope you like my creation and that it gets me the opportunity to be on another design team.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a fantastic day!
